Wizard Rock

Wizard Rock is a genre of music inspired by the works of J.K. Rowling, author of the popular Harry Potter book series. The first known wizard rock band was Harry and the Potters, founded by brothers Joe and Paul DeGeorge after all the bands intending to come to a backyard rock show Joe was organizing canceled. The brothers quickly wrote a bunch of songs to perform for the audience, and wizard rock was born.

This is an extremely interesting genre of music. There's so many different types of Wizard Rock (also known as WizRock) it's ridicolous! These are a few of many Wizard Rock bands:

Yes, yes, I know there is countless other bands. If I haven't mentioned your favorite WizRock band add a link to their website. Anything WizRock related can be posted here- updates on their music, the Wrock tour, etc.

I would especially like it if anyone posted their own WizRock stuff. It would be endlessly cool so don't be afraid to post here!

Don't forget The Parselmouths! Haha. They were one of the first Wizard Rock bands and their songs are hilarious.

Oh cool! It must be awesome to be a staffer there. I visit wizrocklopedia.com on occasion. I absolutely love Wrock; it's amazing. I live in Pittsburgh so I plan on being at my local library on the July 25 because a lot of Wizard Rock bands are going to be there. I can't wait!

P.S. I can't believe I forgot The Parselmouths! Haha I love What Kind of Name is Hermione? It totally reminds me of what Mean Girls would be like if it was Wizard style

Haha! Probably so. I can imagine it now! But those girls are so sweet they wouldn't actually be like that but their songs are hilarious and sort of give that impression. They hate all things Gryffindor and Hufflepuff at that. Haha. I remember Kristina said in one of her vlogs when they cast Rob as Edward she said "Ew they cast a Hufflepuff as our Edward"

But yeah it's fun being a staffer on there! Sometimes I play some songs that I want to eventually be uploaded and form a music page but I've yet to be less of a wus and do it.

You should totally do it! I would love to hear some of your stuff since I make my own... but I'm sort of a hypocrite because I'm afraid to post my stuff to, lol.

I'm sooooo excited! The Remus Lupins, The Whomping Willows, and The Mudbloods are going to be at my library. Yay!

Well I've been seriously working on it lately so maybe. And I'll make sure I post it here when I do and you should too!

And also LUCKY YOU!!!! I honestly feel that wizard rockers HATE east Tennessee I mean the only place they play is Memphis which is a nice 6 hour drive or in the middle of the week in Atlanta (2 hours away) when I am clearly busy. Grrr... But anyways have fun!

Does anyone else have Leaky's Christmas CD from this past year? I absolutely love it and listen to it year round.

There's going to be Wrock at LeakyCon and I'm very excited about it since I've never been to a Wrock concert. My town is too unknown for anyone to perform here.

My siblings and I have joked about creating a Wrock band. We have a name and that's about it. I think Linda wrote a song, but I'm not sure if she finished it. The name we came up with is Dementors in an Alley aka The Disorder of the Phoenix.

I like Disorder of the Phoenix.

I absolutely adore the Leaky Christmas album! Honestly, I have heard my fair share of wizard rock albums and wizard rock in general and that one has to be one of the best ever put out. If I had to introduce anyone to Wizard rock I'd give them a copy of it.

Yeah wrock is starting to be an important part of all the conferences now which is very exciting. I really want to go to Wrock Chicago!!! GAH! Everyone who is anyone will freaking be there! But I don't think I can.
