Children of the night?

Being a person who cannot go into the sunlight, or even operate during the day, I have come to question: if vampires were real, what would their reaction to the sun be? I think that the Twilight theory is obviously wrong; the typical Hollywood vampire might have it partially right, but not completely. Don't know, they don't actually exist, of course. But, being me, I wonder. And that is why I have to write the best vampire book ever... With what I think they go through, which has not been represented right thus far.
